serjsa 9 April 2026

Do you dream of exploring the streets of London, relaxing on a beach in Australia, or exploring New York City? Traveling is one of the best ways to practice your English.

✈️ Wanderlust: Essential Vocabulary for Your Next Adventure

But, before you pack your bags, you need to be prepared. The airport, the hotel, and the city streets require a special vocabulary. Don’t just rely on translation apps; knowing the right words will build your confidence and help you solve problems easily.

At the Airport: Don't miss your flight!

The airport is where your adventure begins, but it can also be stressful. Knowing these words is essential:

When you arrive, you must first go to the check-in desk. This is where you register, drop off your checked luggage, and receive your boarding pass.

Then, pay attention to the screens. If your flight is delayed, it will happen later than scheduled. If you don’t see any announcements, it means you have missed your flight.

Finding Your Way: Don't get lost!

Once you arrive, you need to explore. But what happens if you lose your way?

The first rule is to stay calm. Instead of saying "I am lost," you can ask for help:

• "Excuse me, can you give me directions to the nearest train station?"

• "Where is the famous landmark?" (A famous place, like the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty).

Problem Solving: I need help!

Sometimes, things go wrong. Perhaps your hotel room is too small, or your bus is late. It’s important to know how to complain politely:

• "Excuse me, I have a complaint. My room does not have hot water."

• "Can you help me with a refund? The bus service was cancelled."
